Paddle Fest Montana! Join us for two action-packed weekends of paddling at Flathead Lake! Experience fierce competition and vibrant cultural celebrations through the 6th Annual Paddle Palooza, ARE Sprint Challenge outrigger event & Montana Dragon Boat Festival. July 11-13 and July 18-20. FRIDAY, JULY 11
7:30 am – Opening blessing, Kimokeo Kapahulehua
8:00 am - 3 pm: ARE Sprint Challenge @ Polson Fairgrounds
6:00 pm Opening Ceremony/Cultural event @ Polson Fairgrounds. Free and open to the public
8:00 pm Family of the Wa’a outdoor showing under big tent. This is the?story?of a?journey, both of a?canoe?and?the men?and?women who paddled 1,750 miles?across?the Hawaiian?archipelago. Three of the original paddlers of this epic journey will be on hand to discuss and take questions. Free and open to the public
SATURDAY, JULY 12
25-Mile Voyage—Polson to Big Arm, via Bird Island. 13 outrigger canoes and their support boats, survivors, friends and family!
7:30 am: Opening blessing/flower ceremony at Salish Point dock, with Silver Lining ladies and Uncle Kimokeo. This very special event is open to the public, please join us.
8:00 am: Voyage begins, point to point. Polson to MT Canoe Club (Big Arm). Route will head toward Finley Point, circle around Bird Island and to Big Arm.
5:30-ish: Dinner @ Polson Fairgrounds, dinner available from local vendors. Fun for the kids, ax throwing,
7:30-9:30 pm: Live band, the Bad Larry’s, open to the public. Donations welcome!
